Founder & Lending Adviser

My career has never followed a straight line, and I believe that's one of my greatest strengths.

Before founding Root Finance, I spent more than 12 years in recruitment, helping businesses grow and guiding people through some of the most important decisions of their careers. What I enjoyed most wasn't filling vacancies or negotiating contracts — it was helping good people recognise their own value.

Time and time again, I worked with talented individuals who were exceptional at what they did but didn't know how to position themselves, negotiate confidently, or understand what they were truly worth in the market. Helping those people achieve better outcomes, often beyond what they thought was possible, became the most rewarding part of my career.

When I moved into finance, I realised the same principle applied.

Many people are hardworking, financially responsible, and capable of achieving their goals, but they don't always know how to navigate the lending process, present their position effectively, or understand the options available to them. Sometimes they simply need someone in their corner who understands the system and can help them put their best foot forward.

That mindset is what I bring to every client relationship today.

Outside of finance, I've also built and operated businesses of my own. I've experienced the excitement of taking risks, the pressure of meeting payroll, the challenge of managing cash flow, and the responsibility that comes with supporting staff and customers. I've owned property, invested personally, and navigated the same lending process that many of my clients are going through today.

Those experiences have shaped how I work.

When I sit down with a client, I don't just see an application, a property, or a set of financial statements. I see a person, a family, or a business owner trying to achieve something important. My role is to understand what success looks like for them, identify opportunities they may not have considered, and help them make confident decisions along the way.

I founded Root Finance because I wanted to create the kind of business I would choose to work with myself — one built on relationships, trust, and genuine advice. A business where clients deal directly with the owner, receive honest guidance, and know that someone is invested in their outcome long after settlement.

The name Root Finance reflects what I believe good lending advice should do: create strong foundations. Whether you're buying your first home, growing a property portfolio, refinancing existing lending, or funding a business opportunity, every financial decision should support the bigger picture of where you want to be in the future.

I'm not interested in being the biggest advisory business. My focus is on building a business known for doing the right thing, providing clear advice, and creating long-term relationships with clients who know they can pick up the phone and have a real conversation when they need help.

If you're looking for straightforward advice, practical solutions, and someone who genuinely cares about your goals, I'd love the opportunity to help.
